We run a fun, relaxing and engaging E-Sports club for children aged 6 to 11 at the Maqam Centre on Fridays at 5pm.
Learning through playing age-appropriate video games has several, well documented benefits for young minds.
E-games support learning, develop social skills, sportsmanship and cognitive development when carried out under the supervision of an adult.
E-games are lauded by Business Leaders, Entrepreneurs and Technology Pioneers:
Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft)
“We don’t want people playing games just to play games; we want people playing games to learn.”
— On Minecraft and game-based learning
Mark Cuban (Entrepreneur, investor)
“Video games teach kids how to fail, how to try again, and how to keep going until they succeed.”
— On resilience and persistence developed through gaming
Will Wright (Creator of SimCity and The Sims)
“Games are not just entertainment; they’re a way to understand how systems work.”
— On systems thinking and learning through play
Elon Musk (Entrepreneur, CEO of SpaceX & Tesla)
“Video games are a way to develop problem-solving skills and train the mind.”
— On the cognitive benefits of games and simulations
Mark Zuckerberg (Meta / Facebook Founder)
“I played a lot of games growing up. I think Civilization was my favorite game.”

– Zuckerberg has repeatedly explained that Civilization influenced how he thinks about building systems, long-term strategy and resource management
